Painter of stables and horses, documentarist of life in Kovačica
Jan Venjarski, a pioneer of naive art, his artistic path started by painting walls of stables, where the horses, symbols of strength and freedom, became the foundation of his creation. By the return from the army, simple decorations of stables grew into a deep artistic passion that would later on come to life on canvas. He painted the world of fields, daily work, people, and animals with special attention towards details and atmosphere. Horses in his work became the carriers of life, tradition, and strength, creating stories that are eternally engraved in the culture of Kovačica.
